Sophie Barrett - Family Law Professional supervisor

Sophie is a Professional Supervisor, specialising in working with professionals within family law.  

Having worked as a family solicitor for over 20 years, she draws on her first-hand experience of living that role in a wide range of working environments, from central London to regional firms. This, combined with her supervision training and experience provides a supportive, confidential and effective space for professionals dealing with family law and other issues on the front line.

Supervision is your space for one hour, one to one, usually once a month, in which to reflect on and work through any aspect of life that may be impacting upon your work. It is also a place to celebrate successes. All the ups and downs that occur during a career. 

Sophie's own career as a family lawyer has taught her that supervision should be an integral part of every front line professional's practice. 

Her professional experience covers a full spectrum of family law work from pre-nuptial to separation agreements, through divorce, finance and children issues, supporting others in teams with their cases and concerns and managing life as a working parent. These are all highly emotive issues and can be very challenging to work through and manage alone.

As a family solicitor, Sophie's approach was to be as constructive and conciliatory as possible, with a focus on the needs of any children involved.  

This, coupled with her supervision training and lived experience, allows her to listen, hear and best support the wellbeing of fellow family lawyers and other professionals in their working lives. 

She continues to be a committed member of Resolution and is a member of Women In Law Kent.
