Sharon Davey-Holpin - Family Solicitor anD Mediator

About Sharon

Sharon graduated in law at Durham University and has worked in Kent since the mid-1990s, qualifying as a Solicitor in June 1999 and as an All Issues Family Mediator in November 2011.

Sharon joined Hatton Law as a Senior Solicitor and Mediator, in September 2014.

She has practised in a number of areas, but in 2003 made the decision to specialise exclusively in Family Law; she felt strongly at the time and indeed still does, that helping separating families through what is undoubtedly a very painful and difficult time, could (and should!) be achieved by taking a collaborative/non-confrontational approach, which was not a view shared by many back then, but thankfully is a view that has become much more accepted, both by fellow practitioners and the court.

Wide ranging experience in family law and mediation

Sharon has wide ranging experience in family law, dealing with divorce, separation, finances and children matters.

She brings the skills she has as a Mediator into her Legal Practice, putting the onus on resolving disputes through other means than applying to the court. Having said that, avoiding court is not always possible and Sharon has many years of experience in navigating the court process.

Helping families find a way forward

She is a member of Resolution and Kent Law Society, having previously been involved in the management of both the Medway Citizen’s Advice Bureau and Medway Law Society (the latter of which in later years disbanded).

Sharon is excited to be part of the Family Resolution Space, as it is a place where likeminded practitioners can concentrate their efforts and skills on finding workable solutions for families dealing with separation and hopefully will help all of the individuals within those families to move forward with confidence.

How Sharon Works with clients

Based in Kent, meetings are usually in-person but can be remote if required.
