Margaret Sculpher - Collaborative lawyer and Family Mediator

About Margaret

Margaret qualified as a solicitor in 1995 and has worked in the field of family law since this time practising as a family solicitor in local firms. 


She has a wealth of experience in resolving all sorts of family disputes, including finances, cohabitation issues, children matters and concerns pre and post marriage. She joined Buss Murton’s Cranbrook office in May 2020.

Specialist experience and care

Margaret takes a compassionate and holistic approach to cases, offering client’s empathy and support whilst adopting a fair and realistic approach.

Cost effective, collaborative and managing complexity

Margaret is a Resolution trained Collaborative lawyer and Family Mediator and keen to find solutions for parties outside of Court, she recognises that people not only wish to save themselves unnecessary costs when sorting things out but moreover that they wish to avoid confrontation and acrimony wherever possible. She appreciates that the breakdown of relationships is difficult for everyone, and her role is to ease her clients through the process to make it as painless as may be possible, recognising the importance for people to keep their families at the forefront when working through problems.


She is a long-standing member of Resolution, the body of lawyers committed to resolving family matters in an amicable manner and she was a long standing Committee Member for Resolution Kent for 18 years until recently. 


Margaret is calm and friendly in her approach putting clients at ease. She is passionate about her work and in resolving family matters in an amicable and constructive manner whenever possible, believing this to be what is best for them.


Margaret has two grown up children, lives in Goudhurst and has worked in Sevenoaks, Maidstone and currently Cranbrook.
